I started hawking when I was 9 years old. My uncle, President Kennedy, was in the White House at the time. A lot of people were talking about Camelot, and I read a book about Camelot and the young King Arthur called “The Once and Future King” by T.H. White. He was a British falconer who had a chapter in the book about young King Arthur learning falconry. It was very detailed and to me absolutely riveting.
I became obsessed after reading that book, and I told my Dad and Mom that’s what I wanted to do. There's not been any time in my life since then that I haven't had birds and haven't been involved in the sport. It's one of the great joys of my life.

After reading your books, I see you’ve experienced many challenges in life beyond the obvious. I’m so grateful for your tenacity to heal yourself and nature. I’ve waited a long time for hope to spread its wings. Seems like it takes a falconer to make it happen
Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us, Bobby. It makes you more real to me and YES, it helps me to see the spiritual side of you that partnering with nature brings out. I also read that book when I was a child. I loved it.
