Generally,as is the case now ,wages have risen as have prices and buying power is at best equal to what it was. Those least able to afford basics are the ones affected the most. You have some great ideas as well as some questionable ones like these.
That's why in my blog, I suggest looking at other healthcare delivery platform precedents like those in Singapore, Japan and Switzerland. Japan, for example, still has private insurance companies, but they're heavily regulated and have to use standardized procedures. With hospitals, there's also a need for standardized modernized reporting systems. These are lacking in the current privatized and maximized for profit system. So data collection and reporting really sucks in the US. The data also isn't transparent. This leads to led to a lot of data manipulation. Over the past few years, this especially has been a problem. The CDC is especially bad when it comes to data manipulation....and the politicalization of that manipulation.
It could get ugly for a while, but I'm for freedom - open things up, get the government and other entities out of the way and let the chips fall where they may.
So... I'm not a fan of regulation and standardization. Those things curtail the freedom to experiment to determine what works best. In other words, they prevent the cream from rising to the top. People will naturally migrate to what works best, but that can only be determined in a free system.
One doesn't necessarily preclude the other. There can be minimal standards and procedures that are easy to comply with. Right now the HUGE problem without such protocols is that a lot more administration (and related costs) are needed to deal with all the different forms and methods used by mutliple insurers all with their own protocols.
There are two primary ways of reducing all these inefficiencies leading to massive amounts of administration. One is going to a single uniform system, and thus the push for Medicare for All. The other second way, is what I suggested, more standardization of protocols that private insurers abide by. These insurers still compete on pricing and benefits. So consumers still have a lot of options. ...but hospitals don't have to fill out different forms for different insurers are based on different agreements hospitals have with different insurers.
The Swiss system is also interesting. This provides a basic catastrophic coverage to people, and then citizens can still add additional private coverage above the basic package......sort of like some of the added insurance for medicare.

1. Medicare for all is the wrong solution. American healthcare was great when the patient was the customer. As soon as the insurance companies and the government became the customers it went to shit and has stayed there. To fix healthcare Mr. Kennedy you need to make it reasonable again for patients to pay with cash out of their own pockets, for medical decisions to be between a doctor and a patient with no government or insurance company in the room, and for doctors to be able to practice as entrepreneurs without signing there lives away to big clinics with noncompetes. Professionals like doctors and engineers are falling out of the middle class until professionals can practice on their own again profitably there will be no American dream and this is impossible in the world of Medicaid and Big Insurance.
2.Student loans are the problem and while these predatory loans are hurting the people who took them out debt relief fails to address root causes. An America where there is a constant flow of money to an education system that delivers less and less every year in terms of real knowledge and skill and more and more in terms of indoctrination is on the downhill slope and is gonna stay there. Why is this happening? Same as above. The students and their families are no longer the customer so there is no incentive to deliver a product that has value to them. Instead a product that is only valuable to Washington is being delivered in our schools. Ridiculous identitarian indoctrination has no value in the real world. It doesn't teach the students how to make or do anything valuable. It is simply a required credential to enter the closed world of the American aristocracy. Stop funneling money from the government to the schools. Make them provide a service that the American people want enough to pay their own money for at a price that they are willing to pay. The grant/loan system only benefits the banks and the government.
3. Raising the minimum wage will only keep entry level workers out of the workforce. We need more High School kids working so that entry level jobs will go to young people instead of moms and dads trying to support kids flipping burgers they will already have skills and experience by then. Raising the minimum wage, like all regulation, falls disproportionately on smaller businesses. That's why bigger firms salivate at the thought of a pro-regulation administration. In short it is good for corporations and bad for small business. We have almost 100 million unemployed and need jobs that will help them get back to being productive for themselves and their families. A lot of them need easy jobs, simple jobs, that quite honestly aren't worth high pay to employers.
Mr. Kennedy, you are right about cutting military spending and enforcing accountability. You are right about labor being taken advantage of by management. You are right that we should limit trade with groups who are not our friends and don't behave like friends. You say that corporations bend laws and regulations to benefit themselves at the expense of workers but don't seem to see that regulations will always fall disproportionately on individuals and smaller businesses just because a fixed cost of compliance is always a larger portion of a smaller pie. And you are right about the tax code being gamed by those who can afford professional cheaters. The American people are hoping for big things from you. Please think a little deeper about your solutions. It isn't enough to be courageous and well-intentioned, though those things certainly put you ahead of the pack.

I am more concerned over the doctors that were threatened to lose their license if they didn't go along with the vaccines. in other words not tell their patients why they shouldn't get the jab! Until we change people’s eating habits, the metabolic syndrome issues will continue. I’ll add that as with a smoker’s health policy increase, we need to add an obese policy increase to further incentivize people to take better care of themselves as well as charging people more for using the disease care system more. One can even argue that people that maintain normal weight through better diet and exercise should actually be giving less to the system in the form of premium reductions. There is much more to be done, but unless we address things at the individual level, healthcare costs from chronic disease will continue to increase.

In the early-mid 1800s, life expectancy was 35-40 yrs. Most folks including children HAD to work in agriculture, grueling long hours etc. Had unions & leftists been able to ban child labor & impose min wages, max hours etc, many millions would've starved.
It was the synergy between capitalist free-market-price-system incentives (albeit imperfect), invention, technology & entrepreneurialism that enabled people to come off the farm, work less for more, live longer etc.
It's in a competitive employer's interest to offer improved working conditions provided it's economically & technologically feasible to do so, otherwise workers seek employment elsewhere, even accept a slightly lower wage in return for those conditions. Employers who mindlessly and unnecessarily insist on bad working conditions have to pay a higher wage to attract workers to those conditions.
Unions & govt intervention had nothing to do with the progress other than getting in the way. I'll make a grudging exception to anti-oligopoly laws & enforcement, which unfortunately have been subverted into pro-oligopoly & non-enforcement.
I think this is a very important topic! I appreciate your perspective. The look-back on the problem and its causes is helpful. Your emphasis on military spending as a factor is interesting. Clearly, the benefits of productivity have not been evenly shared.
With a background in economics, I am always looking for incentives and unintended consequences of policy decisions. Military spending always needs reassessment. Healthcare reform is vital for our future. On that front, I think neither major party has a truly intelligent and innovative solution to adjust the current system. I hope more debate and "outside the box" thinking will be encouraged.
I always get concerned with minimum wage discussions distorting the businesses that will exist and those that will not, especially small businesses. The higher the wage, the more that some low-skilled workers will be fully sidelined. To improve human dignity, I would hope that political debates would include more discussion around housing affordability. If effective policy could solve housing affordability in a way that compensates for wage variation, the middle class could start thriving again. I have my own ideas which will be published on Substack at a later time.
For major reforms on key policy areas, I think the U.S. needs to shift to a VAT tax system (consumption based with basic survival goods exempt). This would help reset some of the financial projections on long-term debt and deficits.

I totally agree about "medicare for all", as long as we allow "medicare for all" to ONLY pay for off-patent generic drugs and/or supplements. Otherwise "medicare for all" is just a taxpayer-funded gift to Medical-Industrial.
Preventative care should be included by design. One tiny example: free vitamin D for all people of color in high-latitude regions, and all elderly. And not homeopathic doses - real doses like around 4000 IU/day for a normal body-weight person.

I agree. In fact I take it much further. I'm not enamored with any Socialized, centralized approach to health care or anything else. Centralization means some authoritarian entity is going to be running the show which means corruption will rule the program.
The only way out of this is to decentralize everything. I know RFK agrees with this because I've heard him say so in discussions he's had with Russell Brand and others. I would like to hear more of this from him and less about 'centralized, socialist solutions'.

Generally,as is the case now ,wages have risen as have prices and buying power is at best equal to what it was. Those least able to afford basics are the ones affected the most. You have some great ideas as well as some questionable ones like these.

That's why in my blog, I suggest looking at other healthcare delivery platform precedents like those in Singapore, Japan and Switzerland. Japan, for example, still has private insurance companies, but they're heavily regulated and have to use standardized procedures. With hospitals, there's also a need for standardized modernized reporting systems. These are lacking in the current privatized and maximized for profit system. So data collection and reporting really sucks in the US. The data also isn't transparent. This leads to led to a lot of data manipulation. Over the past few years, this especially has been a problem. The CDC is especially bad when it comes to data manipulation....and the politicalization of that manipulation.
It could get ugly for a while, but I'm for freedom - open things up, get the government and other entities out of the way and let the chips fall where they may.
So... I'm not a fan of regulation and standardization. Those things curtail the freedom to experiment to determine what works best. In other words, they prevent the cream from rising to the top. People will naturally migrate to what works best, but that can only be determined in a free system.
One doesn't necessarily preclude the other. There can be minimal standards and procedures that are easy to comply with. Right now the HUGE problem without such protocols is that a lot more administration (and related costs) are needed to deal with all the different forms and methods used by mutliple insurers all with their own protocols.
There are two primary ways of reducing all these inefficiencies leading to massive amounts of administration. One is going to a single uniform system, and thus the push for Medicare for All. The other second way, is what I suggested, more standardization of protocols that private insurers abide by. These insurers still compete on pricing and benefits. So consumers still have a lot of options. ...but hospitals don't have to fill out different forms for different insurers are based on different agreements hospitals have with different insurers.
The Swiss system is also interesting. This provides a basic catastrophic coverage to people, and then citizens can still add additional private coverage above the basic package......sort of like some of the added insurance for medicare.

1. Medicare for all is the wrong solution. American healthcare was great when the patient was the customer. As soon as the insurance companies and the government became the customers it went to shit and has stayed there. To fix healthcare Mr. Kennedy you need to make it reasonable again for patients to pay with cash out of their own pockets, for medical decisions to be between a doctor and a patient with no government or insurance company in the room, and for doctors to be able to practice as entrepreneurs without signing there lives away to big clinics with noncompetes. Stop funneling money from the government to the schools. Make them provide a service that the American people want enough to pay their own money for at a price that they are willing to pay. The grant/loan system only benefits the banks and the government.
3. Raising the minimum wage will only keep entry level workers out of the workforce. We need more High School kids working so that entry level jobs will go to young people instead of moms and dads trying to support kids flipping burgers they will already have skills and experience by then. Raising the minimum wage, like all regulation, falls disproportionately on smaller businesses. That's why bigger firms salivate at the thought of a pro-regulation administration. In short it is good for corporations and bad for small business. We have almost 100 million unemployed and need jobs that will help them get back to being productive for themselves and their families. A lot of them need easy jobs, simple jobs, that quite honestly aren't worth high pay to employers.
Mr. Kennedy, you are right about cutting military spending and enforcing accountability. You are right about labor being taken advantage of by management. You are right that we should limit trade with groups who are not our friends and don't behave like friends. You say that corporations bend laws and regulations to benefit themselves at the expense of workers but don't seem to see that regulations will always fall disproportionately on individuals and smaller businesses just because a fixed cost of compliance is always a larger portion of a smaller pie. And you are right about the tax code being gamed by those who can afford professional cheaters. The American people are hoping for big things from you. Please think a little deeper about your solutions. It isn't enough to be courageous and well-intentioned, though those things certainly put you ahead of the pack.

You both have nailed it. As alluded to indirectly, the processed food industry also needs to be held accountable by a restored agency that is not captured. Until we change people’s eating habits, the metabolic syndrome issues will continue. I’ll add that as with a smoker’s health policy increase, we need to add an obese policy increase to further incentivize people to take better care of themselves as well as charging people more for using the disease care system more. One can even argue that people that maintain normal weight through better diet and exercise should actually be giving less to the system in the form of premium reductions. There is much more to be done, but unless we address things at the individual level, healthcare costs from chronic disease will continue to increase.
Unadulterated foods, meds, etc. should go a long way in solving that issue. Clean out FDA.

Sadly, unions & leftists have been very effective at taking false credit for improvements in working conditions that were due to other economic-technological forces. Unions & leftists actually retarded the forces & improvements they take credit for.
In the early-mid 1800s, life expectancy was 35-40 yrs. Most folks including children HAD to work in agriculture, grueling long hours etc. Had unions & leftists been able to ban child labor & impose min wages, max hours etc, many millions would've starved.
It was the synergy between capitalist free-market-price-system incentives (albeit imperfect), invention, technology & entrepreneurialism that enabled people to come off the farm, work less for more, live longer etc.
It's in a competitive employer's interest to offer improved working conditions provided it's economically & technologically feasible to do so, otherwise workers seek employment elsewhere, even accept a slightly lower wage in return for those conditions. Employers who mindlessly and unnecessarily insist on bad working conditions have to pay a higher wage to attract workers to those conditions.
Unions & govt intervention had nothing to do with the progress other than getting in the way. I'll make a grudging exception to anti-oligopoly laws & enforcement, which unfortunately have been subverted into pro-oligopoly & non-enforcement.
I think this is a very important topic! I appreciate your perspective. The look-back on the problem and its causes is helpful. Your emphasis on military spending as a factor is interesting. Clearly, the benefits of productivity have not been evenly shared.
With a background in economics, I am always looking for incentives and unintended consequences of policy decisions. Military spending always needs reassessment. Healthcare reform is vital for our future. On that front, I think neither major party has a truly intelligent and innovative solution to adjust the current system. I hope more debate and "outside the box" thinking will be encouraged.
I always get concerned with minimum wage discussions distorting the businesses that will exist and those that will not, especially small businesses. The higher the wage, the more that some low-skilled workers will be fully sidelined. To improve human dignity, I would hope that political debates would include more discussion around housing affordability. If effective policy could solve housing affordability in a way that compensates for wage variation, the middle class could start thriving again. I have my own ideas which will be published on Substack at a later time.
For major reforms on key policy areas, I think the U.S. needs to shift to a VAT tax system (consumption based with basic survival goods exempt). This would help reset some of the financial projections on long-term debt and deficits.
Bottom line, thank you for championing the middle class in your efforts to run for POTUS. I applaud you for making every indication that you want to heal the political divisions in our country.

The best way to have a real dialogue about vaccines being weaponized to handicap, infertilize and murder the “over-population” is to start with vaccine contamination: nobody could be in favor of contaminated pharmaceuticals.

I totally agree about "medicare for all", as long as we allow "medicare for all" to ONLY pay for off-patent generic drugs and/or supplements. Otherwise "medicare for all" is just a taxpayer-funded gift to Medical-Industrial.
Preventative care should be included by design. One tiny example: free vitamin D for all people of color in high-latitude regions, and all elderly. And not homeopathic doses - real doses like around 4000 IU/day for a normal body-weight person.
And that's just the start. Imagine what we could come up with if we put Dr. Marik on the job? To add a new prevention, he'd run a study showing if it were cost-effective, and we'd end up saving money and extending lifespan as a direct result.
Good ideas, except tax reform never works since we have had tax form every year all our lives, and it just gets worse. Close all the loopholes, one single flat tax. Level the playing field. Corporate tax for product made overseas should reflect a larger rate. Administrative expense for federal programs runs at 90%. It needs to be at 9%. Even the mob ran it at 10%.
