Until you can show yourself as independent from the Netanyahu-governed Israel genocide of the Palestinian people and speak out against this, I've lost my faith in you!

You seem to have forgotten why the "palestinians" were given gaza. So is the answer removing Israel? Moving the jewish homeland to say, argentina? The zionists created this problem with the creation of Israel. The Jewish soundly defeated the arab muslim horde in 1967 and worked to protect themselves from extinction by the muslims. Do you have an answer?

Funny, I wrote a similar comment in response to a different pro Pal post and they explained in response why many Arabic country were unable to do so for reasons that I am unaware of. ie. one already has starvation going on, I honestly forget the others, but c'mon... we're talking about some wealthy countries.

Given Gaza? You seem to forget that the same people have “gave” them gaza only have been a country in the region since 1946. Have you ever seen a map of Israel and Palestine from 1946? An even more telling map is one that shows the progression from 1946- 2000. It’s clear how the colonization of Palestine has rapidly left Palestine with almost nothing. Palestine was never “given” Gaza, it’s more accurate to say the rest of the land Palestine owned pre 1946 was colonized and they were “left with” gaza and the West Bank. You put Palestinian in quotation marks, perhaps to convey that you don’t actually think they’re a people or an ethnicity. You maybe suprised to learn The term "Palestine" first appeared in the 5th century BCE when the ancient Greek historian Herodotus wrote of a "district of Syria, called Palaistinê" between Phoenicia and Egypt in The Histories. You mention Israel being the jewish homeland. That’s an idea rooted in the Torah. If the Jewish claim to Israel comes from the Torah, then it stands the reason that every Israeli should be a practicing Jew, a very strict believer, because it is impossibly unfair to say “I believe in this religion when it grants me the land that you and your father and his fathers father (going back generations, as most Palestinians can prove their heritage in the country far longer than any Israeli) lived on, but I will shirk the responsibility and all around hardship associated with being a strict believer in any religion”. However this isn’t the case. Studies show 20% of Israelis do not believe in god ( this isn’t an absolute number, I’ve seen different studies say from 10-20). Another study( guttman 2009 survey) showed 33% of Israelis did not believe they were the chosen people. Michael is it fair, for example, for me to cite a holy book as my reasoning for say, stealing your bike, if I ( and everyone who uses that holy book to justify stealing your bike) do not follow that same holy book when it something that doesn’t materially benefit me? Do you have an answer?

Retracted for political reasons:

The origin of Palestinians and their genetic relatedness with other Mediterranean populations

Abstract: The genetic profile of Palestinians has, for the first time, been studied by using human leukocyte antigen (HLA) gene variability and haplotypes. The comparison with other Mediterranean populations by using neighbor-joining dendrograms and correspondence analyses reveal that Palestinians are genetically very close to Jews and other Middle East populations, including Turks (Anatolians), Lebanese, Egyptians, Armenians, and Iranians. Archaeologic and genetic data support that both Jews and Palestinians came from the ancient Canaanites, who extensively mixed with Egyptians, Mesopotamian, and Anatolian peoples in ancient times. Thus, Palestinian-Jewish rivalry is based in cultural and religious, but not in genetic, differences. The relatively close relatedness of both Jews and Palestinians to western Mediterranean populations reflects the continuous circum-Mediterranean cultural and gene flow that have occurred in prehistoric and historic times. This flow overtly contradicts the demic diffusion model of western Mediterranean populations substitution by agriculturalists coming from the Middle East in the Mesolithic-Neolithic transition.

I concur. I was really rooting for RFK Jr, but when I saw his over-the-top "unconditional" support for Israel, and characterizing the Palestinians in such a negative light, it was like a stab in the heart. But, ultimately I think he is a Pro-War candidate just like the rest of them. If he were elected I am confident that his stance regarding Israel relations would get us into war with Iran and likely much of the rest of the world.

Hamas are the ones looking to eradicate a country from the face of the earth not Israel.

Hamas has been in large part propped up and supported by Israel and Netanyahu with the intent of dividing up the Palestinian secular resistance movement. This situation is so complicated and there is no way that the true facts are even out there. I find it absurd that people argue so vehemently when it is impossible to do so factually and not emotionally

Expand full comment

It's not really very complicated. Israel is an apartheid, Jewish Supremacist state, that does NOT have equal rights for people of all religions like in the USA and the rest of the civilized world. The people of Gaza are living in what human rights organizations call an open air prison. I think freedom of religion is what makes America great. I think that having religious countries is a bad idea, be them Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, or Jewish states. I think that the US should not give Israel one more penny in military aid until they significantly change the apartheid form of governance. Please note that Zionism is not the same thing as Judaism. There are many Jews who are not Zionist and many Zionist who are not Jews. Zionism is a racist, Jewish supremacist nationalistic ideology that says that Jews are the chosen ones, and God promised them some land, and God views the Jews more favorably than other people.

Expand full comment

There are 22 Arab states, why aren't they helping Palestinians instead of forcing them on Israel, the ONLY Jewish state, who they all detest, to be responsible for them??? Over the years many peace offerings of land were repeatedly refused by Arafat. I am fully aware that Judaism and Zionism are not the same. Radical Zionists are Khazarian Mafia who are not Jews and who control Israeli govt as well as our own and most westernized countries. So you choose to lazer focus on a group of people who have been globally persecuted and genocided for over 2,000 years bc KM has given them a bad name by committing heinous crimes in their name and now you want this group to continue to bend over? I don't think so.

As I wrote on Twitter in response to one of the Woke neo-totalitarians showing their typical hypocrisies by critiquing your health-related vocal disability, I'm sick of AUTO-TUNED POLITICIANS.

Sometimes I wonder if the simplest way to get through to the under 30-set, many of whom are now seeing how social media has eroded their psychosocial development, is through a Digital/Analog metaphor.

Digital technologies, the binary of zeroes and ones, enable powerful technologies, necessary for smart phones or to smooth over vocal flaws in Y2K pop hits using Autotune. But when it comes to evaluating the character & leadership ability of human beings, the real deal is Analog. The challenges our country faces won't be addressed by another manipulative neoliberal DNC campaign or presidency in which the leader's flaws are synthetically smoothed over through simplistic binary code into identical, Autotuned pablum out of touch with reality.

I'm sure one of your consultants could figure out a better way to say in it, but in 2024, while we can't return to Camelot, we can Return to Analog. Maybe I'll make a bumper sticker that reads:

Sacred Cowpies, I love your alias!

My avatar is Cobalt 60 a cartoon character created by Vaughn Bode in the late 60's. The comic was very graphic and violent but a superb parody of politics and human nature. The characters were mutants who survived nuclear Armageddon and they lived in the San Francisco Bay Area. Vaughn looks lived in San Francisco. He died young, mid 30's from asphyxiation during a complicated sex act.🤣🤭

Vaughn's son Mike Bode followed in his father's footsteps and became a great cartoonist and tattoo artist in his own right. Mike created his own mutants and hit it big. You might know them, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I, too, am concerned about your parroting of AIPAC talking points in support of a State presently committing genocide and ethnic cleansing. There is no excuse for the Nakba of 1948, 75 years of ethnic cleansing and occupation, and now the full on genocide of the Palestinian people. Israel has purposely and effectively created one state from the River to the Sea. Join us in demanding that state be a binational Constitutional Democracy. From his Twitter feed on 7 Oct:

“We must provide Israel with whatever it needs to defend itself—now. As President, I’ll make sure that our policy is unambiguous so that the enemies of Israel will think long and hard before attempting aggression of any kind. I applaud the strong statements of support from the Biden White House for Israel in her hour of need. However, the scale of these attacks means it is likely that Israel will need to wage a sustained military campaign to protect its citizens. Statements of support are fine, but we must follow through with unwavering, resolute, and practical action. America must stand by our ally throughout this operation and beyond as it exercises its sovereign right to self-defense.”

Like the Israeli government and the Biden administration, he refers to the Israeli bombing of Palestinian civilians (of who 50% are children) as Israel defending itself.

All the "negative commentary" here tells me that you've struck a nerve. "Someone" is terrified of your message. The more scared they are, the happier I am.

What message are you speaking of? The negative commentary is coming from wanting an explanation of his support of Israels actions of genocide against Palestinian civilians. So many children. How can one not be upset and comment here when we are so hoping for a person of compassion and heart to step forward to

be a true leader in this time of need.

It might be wise to be strategic about what us little people decide to fight each other about. We can all agree on living wages & corporate pollution, for instance. Let's figure out where we all benefit and focus on that? "They" sure want us to fight about other stuff. Are you sure it is to your benefit to make them happy?

I don't think anyone is terrified here. There are, however, plenty of people who heard criticism of senseless wars from Kennedy, and he's changing his tune.

Expand full comment

I wasn't referring to us little people. Its another group entirely that is terrified. They win whenever we fight among ourselves. Any 50% issue gets automatically magnified by them - to distract us from issues like "living wages" and corporate polluters where we'd all benefit and they would lose.

Just listened to the Theo Von podcast you were featured on; please don't get sucked into the 'housing first' failed philosophy. No doubt Blackrock and the rest are keeping my generation well away from home ownership, but do not conflate it with the 'homelessness' epidemic. A much better author on this topic (no offense to your son's recommendation) is Michael Shellenberger. Billions of dollars - in the state of California alone - have been poured into failed housing first projects. The only people enriched through these programs are local politicians (look at the disgraced LA council members), developers, and corrupt union leaders. This is no different from the military industrial complex, and is accurately named, 'the homeless industrial complex'.
